Heather Buerger currently serves as the North American Executive Vice President of the International Energy Credit Association (IECA).  While overseeing and advancing the mission of the IECA, Heather manages all aspects of the association serving over 1,000 members and 60 sponsors.  Heather’s responsibilities are vast and include: the development and maintenance of sponsorships, developing and implementing member and sponsor recognition programs, executing and advancing the North American educational programs, as well as website management, and social media initiatives, including the development of creative content for the association’s multiple publications.

Prior to joining the IECA in [2015], Heather built her career as an energy executive having spent nine years as a Contracts Manager and Credit Analyst at Superior Natural Gas Corporation where she supported the treasury and accounting departments before transitioning into the role in credit and contacts. During this time, Heather was an active member of the IECA and served on many committees, including a board level role as the Marketing and Communications Committee chairperson. Prior to her work in the energy sector, Heather spent nine years working in the travel industry as a corporate trainer and quality assurance auditor for the Hertz Corporation.

Heather attended Eastern New Mexico University where she received a B.S. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in broadcast journalism and production.  When not at work, Heather is actively involved with several community events and charities including her local alumni chapter of Chi Omega, Northwest Harris County Panhellenic and National Charity League Cypress Bells Chapter. Heather resides in Cypress, a Houston suburb with her husband Nicholas and daughter Lauren.
